SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield’s most-wanted man, Desmond Patton, is on the run after allegedly shooting Jerry Hughes to death in broad daylight outside of a city McDonald’s restaurant.

Desmond Patton, 19, is an alleged gang member and police consider him to be dangerous. He is wanted in connection with the Aug. 22 shooting that not only claimed the life of Hughes, but also wounded a 13-year-old boy with a stray bullet.

Police said they think two shooters were involved in the killing and have already arrested and charged 18-year-old Justin Garcia in connection with the case.

Patton’s last known addresses include 225 Quincy St., and 102 Kenyon St., in Springfield, according to police.

Anyone with any information in the case is asked to contact Springfield police or call 911.
