Westfield parents discuss anti-bullying measures with school board

By WGGB Staff

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — In light of the recent suicide of a South Hadley High School student after she was allegedly bullied, parents in Westfield gathered to discuss a review of their school district’s anti-bullying policies.

The Westfield School Committee held the public hearing Monday, and some at the meeting said they wanted to be proactive in decisions regarding student behavior. Parents at the meeting said bullying is happening, and it’s happening at a very young age.

The district was also discussing how pending state anti-bullying legislation would affect them in the future.
