SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — In the city police department’s continuing effort to curb prostitution, the arrests of two men from Springfield and a man from Wales made during an undercover sting operation were announced Friday.

Juan Curet, 40, of 425 Central St., Apartment 202, Springfield; Alphonso L. Smith, 29, of 2303 Wilbraham Road, Springfield; and Donald L. LeClair, 55, of 29 Monson Road, Wales, are all facing a charge of engaging in sexual conduct for a fee, according to police.

The arrests were made during a Thursday afternoon sting involving an undercover female police officer posing as a prostitute, according to police. The three were reportedly arrested during a short period of time after allegedly offering money to the officer in exchange for sexual acts.
