“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” Heading to WMass

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — ABC’s hit show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is coming to western New England again, and this time, it is definitely coming to western Massachusetts.

Friday morning, Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno announced that the City of Homes will be the location of the show’s newest home, and that N. Riley Construction of Chicopee has been selected as the general contractor.

While officials have announced that Springfield will be the site, the winning family won’t be known until Sunday, September 11th, when the crew from “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” knocks on the recipient’s door.

Back in 2009, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” was seeking a deserving family in the western Massachusetts area. The show then chose the Hill family of Suffield, Conn., just over the border from Agawam. This time though, Sarno assures everyone that he has “double, triple, quadruple checked” that the house will be indeed in “Springfield proper.”
