Military members and civilians who’ve experienced war are now featured in a local art exhibit.
“100-Faces of War” is part of a larger exhibit called “Observing a Decade Since September 2001,” — now on display at the Canal Gallery in Holyoke.
Another part of the show, “Breaking News” captures the headlines from the year that followed the September 11th attacks.
Local artist Mary Bernstein collected news and added her personal aspects of the year.
“I found myself mesmerized and paralyzed after the event and this was what I could do. I didn’t know for how long…We didn’t know what would happen next but I decided to be the watcher and collector of the year,” David artist Mary Bernstein.
Another piece of the exhibit focuses on how war effects families, the 3rd exhibit, “100 Faces of War,” putting a face on American’s who’ve seen war.
The exhibit runs through October 28th at the Canal Gallery in Holyoke.
