It’s a powerful art exhibit on display in Holyoke.

Three local artists showing their work in “Observing a Decade Since September 2001″ at the Canal Gallery.

It is a powerful look back at the year that followed September 11th and the wars that also followed, that Americans are still coping with.

One of the three featured exhibits called “Continuum” is an anti-war statement from a mother’s perspective.

Local artist Harriet Diamond spent 5 years working on the project.

She says it’s important for people to realize the effects war has an American families when they send they’re sons or daughters off to war.

“I think it’s important when politicians send people to war, what kind of impact it has on those families who lose a child,” explained Harriet Diamond.

Another part of the exhibit tracts the headlines in the year that followed the September 11th attacks and the 3rd exhibit, “100 faces of war.”

They’re on display through October 28th.
