State Cracks Down on Medicaid Fraud
September 30th, 2011
BOSTON, Mass (WGGB)
Attorney general martha coakley is cracking down on medicaid fraud.
Today she announced indictments against ten people for their involvement in schemes that cost tax payers nearly 10 million dollars.
The schemes involved four health care providers including adlife health care which has a location in west springfield.
Coakley says the companies billed the state for care provided to dead patients and overstated the level of care needed as a way to overbill the state’s mass health system.
118 criminal indictments have been handed down in the four cases.
