SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) –
Cops say 22-year old Christopher Martinez is a gang member in Springfield.
Recently cops got a tip that three suspects had guns on Main Street in the North End.
One of them was Martinez.
“When they went down there, as soon as they pulled in with an unmarked car it was off to the races, three people ran in three different directions,” said Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.
There were enough cops there to chase each one of them.
“One of the police officers went after him and could see Martinez reach for something in his belt, he then threw the gun over an iron fence,” explained Delaney.
The cop caught up to Martinez and found that gun. He was arrested but was a no show for court.
Police say Martinez needs to be taken off the street.
“Anyone that arms himself with a gun is dangerous. So we consider him armed and dangerous,” added Delaney.
His last known address was Main Street in Springfield but police now need your help to track him down.
So keep your eyes open in case you cross paths with this wanted criminal.
Your tip could land Christopher Martinez behind bars.
