SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – After spending several months on the run, a violent fugitive from New York state has been arrested in Springfield.
Mass. State Police Trooper Todd Nolan tells abc40 that around 8:00 a.m. Friday, U.S. Marshals, FBI agents, and Springfield and State Police arrested 25-year-old Esteban Ramos-Cruz in front of 31 Rutledge Street in Springfield.
State Police say that he is wanted on several federal warrants, including:

Ramos-Cruz was just featured on America’s Most Wanted just three weeks ago, on Friday, January 6.
According to the program, in May 2011, several law enforcement agencies cracked down on 7th and 10th Street gang members in the Buffalo area. Members of both groups were indicted on “dozens of charges relating to gang violence, drug trafficking, and murder”, says America’s Most Wanted.
A short time after the indictments were handed up, Ramos-Cruz took off on the run.
Ramos-Cruz, who was a member of the 7th Street Gang, is accused of murdering Eric Morrow, a 10th Street Gang member.
Ramos-Cruz is scheduled to be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Springfield Friday.
