Massachusetts Closer to Ban on Cell Phones
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — You may have to change the way you use your cell phone while driving — and that doesn’t mean no texting.
The Joint Transportation Committee approved a bill that would ban cell phone use in cars. The bill would allow police officers in the state to pull over drivers if they are seen using there phones.
State Representative Joseph Wagner of Chicopee is the sponsor of the bill. He says that opponents argue ‘going hands free’ won’t solve the safety issues on the road — but he’s not concerned.
“I understand the argument that says having a conversation while driving is distracting,” said Wagner. “But it’s much easier to have that conversation with two hands on the wheel.”
He says in a perfect world he’d eliminate cell phones all together, but the Bluetooth technology will be helpful to Massachusetts drivers.

Another intrusion by the government this will
do nothing to stop people from talking on there
cell phone are the police going to pull everyone over ? Just a guess but I bet if
They pass this they get more federal money
They tell us what light bulbs to use , what insurance to have know this when does it end
People need to start voting these fools out
of office
There is also some new technology, where the gov., can actually
cut off usage in your car, heard it on tv.
By the way, those new light bulbs have mercury in them, can cause mercury poisioning.
