Florence Savings Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB)– A suspect has been arrested in the robbery of the Florence Savings Back at 176 King Street in Northampton.

The suspect walked into the back around 4 pm Friday afternoon and handed the teller a note stating he had a bomb, and demanding money. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The image of the suspect was caught on a surveillance camera and as a result, Northampton Police received numerous tips regarding the robbery.

Northampton Police arrested Thadius Romanowski, 33, of Holyoke after 3 am on Saturday. Romanowski was charged with unarmed robbery and is being held on $10,000 bail.
