Police: Northfield Logger Died From Head Trauma

NORTHFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 79-year-old man has died after striking his head while out in the woods near his Northfield home. Police say Robert “Bucky” Rogers often went in the woods near his home to chop firewood, but his son became concerned when he didn’t return home early Sunday afternoon. The son went to look for him and found him dead.
Police think Rogers either fell and struck his head on a log, or a limb fell on his head. Rogers was found deep in the woods and all-terrain vehicles were needed to get him out.
