(EASTHAMPTON, Mass.) (WGGB)–Congressman Richard Neal has some competition in his bid for re-election.
Berkshire County Register of Deeds and former state senator Andy Nuciforo kicked off his campaign with several stops throughout the district, including one this afternoon in Easthampton.
The newly re-shaped First Congressional District includes portions of incumbent Richard Neal’s current district and all of the Berkshires.
Nuciforo says he’s running because he feels the country is headed in the wrong direction,” Ordinary people, middle class families and working people are getting clobbered in this economy, it’s been a very difficult time for ordinary Massachusetts residents and everyday people around the country, and we need to make sure we have people in Washington that are standing up and fighting for the families affected by this economy and by what’s happening in Washington, I intend to be that person,” says Nuciforo.
Right now there are three democrats in the race. Besides Neal and Nuciforo there’s Berkshire County writer Bill Shein.

I’ll support almost any challenger given the economic condition in the U.S.. Ritchie Neal needs replacement. JMHO.
