Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are investigating a stabbing incident in Springfield on Chestnut Street.

The call came in at 9:07p.m. Wednesday evening.

Captain Collins told us, “There was a stabbing at 122 Chestnut Street.  A domestic dispute between a man and woman there ended with the woman stabbing the man.  He was injured in the upper chest, shoulder area and is on his way to the hospital. The woman has been arrested. Initially they told our officers they were attacked, but that turned out not to be true.”

No word yet on the seriousness of the man’s injuries.

Police are not releasing their names at this time.
