“413″ Music Video Goes Viral

AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) — It’s a three-and-half-minute musical wonder – a rap song dedicated to what Western Mass. does best.

The man behind it all refers to himself only as Dr. Westchesterson.

An Agawam native, he thought up the song first, and shot the video with a friend a few weeks ago.

“It’s kind of my love letter to the part of the state I grew up in and love so much,” he said.

From catering halls, to burger joins, to the Basketball Hall of Fame, the video features all of the Doctor’s favorites.

“They’re all places that have weighed heavily into my existence at this point,” he said.

It only took 24 hours to shoot and it’s only been up for four days, but the “413″ music video already has nearly 40,000 views.

The viral potential of the Pioneer Valley was not something the Doctor predicted.

“Up ’til now my most popular video had 2,800 views, so when this thing started going viral on Friday I was a little bit shocked,” he said.

But even with all that it covers, Dr. Westchesterson hasn’t been able to please everyone.

“There are some people who are thrilled to see their Western Mass. landmarks represented and other people are not so happy that their particular corner of Western Mass. was left out,” he said.

And luckily for his fans, that only means one thing.

“I’d say a sequel is definitely in the works,” said Dr. Westchesterson.

Funny how I saw that same name for a video used a # of weeks on facebook by some young rappers with a video in Springfield. I wonder if this man plans to give them credit for the idea!
