New President and CFO Tapped for Peter Pan Bus Lines

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – For the first time in its nearly eighty year history, Peter Pan Bus Lines is now being run by someone other than a member of the Picknelly family.

Thursday, Peter Pan officials announced that Brian Stefano, who joined Peter Pan over two decades ago, became the company’s new President and Chief Financial Officer.

Stefano, a Westfield native, joined Peter Pan back in 1990 as Controller. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of the bus line.

Previous President Peter A. Picknelly is moving to the role of Chairman and CEO of Peter Pan, a position that has been vacant since Picknelly’s father, Peter L. Picknelly, died in 2004.

Picknelly will be still be involved in the operation of the bus company, but will now be able to devote more time to businesses owned by the family, including Camfour, and Belts Technologies, as well as continuing to expand OPAL, Picknelly’s real estate development firm.

Speaking about Stefano, Picknelly says in a statement, “His proficiency and expertise in corporate operations, bus revenue management, business administration and employee relations, has demonstrated his capability to serve as our company’s President and CFO. I have every confidence that Mr. Stefano’s contributions and leadership will continue to keep Peter Pan Bus Lines in the forefront of our industry as the innovative and customer-driven transportation provider in the Northeast.”

This move marks the first time since the company’s founding in 1933 by Peter C. Picknelly that a Picknelly has not served as President.

Stefano took over as President on May 15.
