Two Radio Stations Help Raise Money in Officer Ambrose’s Family

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Local radio stations are also doing their part to pay tribute to Officer Ambrose.

Rock102 and Lazer 99.3 collected donations Wednesday at the Basketball Hall of Fame and Eastfield Mall for their Fallen Hero Fund.

Donations collected will be donated to the Kevin E. Ambrose Fund, created in honor of the fallen officer.

“We feel compelled. We feel like a part of the community and to lose someone like a Kevin Ambrose really means something to this community. It means something to us,” said Mike Baxendale, from the “Bax and O’Brien Show” on Rock102.

“This isn’t just a police officer. This is a father, a grandfather, your neighbor, your friend. It’s a pretty powerful loss for a lot of people,” adds Baxendale.

The stations will be at both locations until 7:00 p.m.
