New Restaurant Heading to Basketball Hall of Fame

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — The Basketball Hall of Fame is getting a new restaurant.

Connecticut based Plan B is set to open later this summer.

“They have been around for awhile.  They have several locations throughout Connecticut.  We will be their first Massachusetts location,” said Kevin Morin, V.P. Colebrook Property Management.

According to Morin the burger bar will offer grass feed beef, microbrew beers and bourbon.

“It’s a great venue they are gonna have an outside seating patio as do several of the other restaurants down here and it’s gonna add to the food offering,” said Morin.

The 6,500 square foot location was left vacant last fall when Pazzo Ristorante closed it’s doors.

Besides the new restaurant the West Columbus Ave location is also adding about 60 new parking spaces on the North side of the property.

“Hopefully we can do the same on the south side get some spots and still keep the feel almost park like and the design intact,” said Morin.

The former visitor and information center, also on West Columbus, is getting a new tenant as well.  According to the Springfield Redevelopment Authority a Luxe Burger Bar is set to open later this year.
