SPRINGFIELD, MASS (WGGB) It takes three straight days with temperatures going over 90 to make it a heat wave. We did it last week and it looks as though we may do it again this weekend.
It will be a sunny, hot afternoon. The good news is that the dew points will slowly start to fall off as it becomes a bit less humid. Either way it will still be an uncomfortable afternoon with highs reaching into the low to mid-90s. The record high for today is 95. There could be an isolated storm but most of us will not be gettting wet. There’s about a 10% chance of a storm. Things will cool off tonight however you’ll still need to keep the air conditioners cranking. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 50s to near 60.
The weekend is looking like a classic beach weekend with lots of sunshine along with highs into the lower 90s. Dew points will slowly creep us as the weekend goes on. There could be an isolated afternoon storm tomorrow but most of us will, once again, stay rain free! Sunday will be another hot day with temperatures reaching into the 90s, mostly likely for the third starting day, making it a heat wave.
