State Representative Arrested on Assault and Battery Charges

BOSTON (AP) — Police say a state representative has been arrested on domestic assault charges after a fight with a woman inside a vehicle in Boston.

Rep. Carlos Henriquez, a Boston Democrat, was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday on charges including domestic assault and battery and domestic kidnapping.

Officer James Kenneally, a spokesman for the Boston Police Department, said Henriquez is scheduled to appear in Roxbury District Court on Monday.

Henriquez could not immediately be reached for comment.

No additional details were immediately available.
