Hearing Set For Proposed Bradley Airport Expansion

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) — A public hearing is planned to discuss a proposal to build a new terminal at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks.

The state Department of Transportation announced last week that an environmental assessment and environmental impact evaluation for the project is now available for public review and comment. A public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 2 at the Connecticut Fire Academy.

DOT said no final decision has been made concerning the proposed terminal. If the concept is ultimately approved, the now-vacant Terminal B, which originally opened in 1952, will be demolished to make room for a new facility that will include concourses, a new parking garage, and a consolidated car rental facility.

Written comments on the environmental plans will be accepted until Aug. 17 at the DOT headquarters in Newington.
