Boston Coach Faces Child Enticement Charge

BOSTON (AP) — A youth baseball coach from Boston is heading to court to face child enticement charges.

Prosecutors say 41-year-old Jose Ortega from the city’s Roslindale neighborhood is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in West Roxbury Municipal Court for alleged “improper communications” with a number of players.

Authorities did not disclose the exact nature of the offenses but did say there was no physical contact involved.

Ortega was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by the Boston Police Crimes Against Children Unit and by prosecutors assigned to the Suffolk district attorney’s Child Protection Unit.

It was not clear if Ortega had a lawyer.
