Fourth Heat Wave of the Season in the Books

SPRINGFIELD, MASS (WGGB)- Yesterday’s heat and humidity was unbearable and today it’s just as bad. We hit 98 yesterday and so far today (as of 1 pm) our temperature has reached into the lower 90s, making it our fourth heat wave of the season. A heat wave is when temperatures reach over 90 three days in a row. It also makes six out of the last seven days with temperatures reaching into the 90s and the 16th day this year! In an average year we see about 12 days that feature temperatures over 90. A cold front will bring showers and storms to the area this afternoon and put an end to our heat wave! Stay cool and have a great day! Dan Brown
