Crime Files: Springfield Man Wanted After Beating Wife With Candlestick Holder

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Police need your help putting Wayman Carl Jenkins behind bars.

They say the 33 year-old Springfield man brutally assaulted his estranged wife on June 3rd at her house on Ranney Street.

Police say a call from neighbors alerted them to a fight outside 75 Ranney Street. By the time they arrived, Jenkins had fled the scene. The victim, and mother of Jenkin’s 4 children, says when she tried calling for help she had the phone yanked out of her hands and destroyed. Police say Jenkins beat her with a heavy candlestick holder to the point where she needed to be hospitalized. An emergency restraining order was filed.

Police say Jenkins has been in trouble with the law before. Sgt. John Delaney says he’s been locked up for multiple offenses including assault and battery, handguns, and trying to run a person over with his car. Sgt. Delaney also says five different women currently have restraining orders against Jenkins.

If you have any information on where Wayman Carl Jenkins may be located, text an anonymous tips to C-R-I-M-E-S.

  1. If the judges just put this man where he belongs, behind bars this would not have happened. After he beats her again, and possibly killing her they will lock him up.
Scum bags like this stay out of jail while someone who commits a white collar crime goes right to jail, no questions asked.
    The judicial system sucks!!!!!
