Greenfield Issues Voluntary Water Restriction
July 19th, 2012
GREENFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)– Due to the hot, dry weather, the Greenfield Department of Public Works has issued a Voluntary Water Restriction. This is not a mandatory restriction, but instead, asks residents to monitor and lessen their water usage.
The Town draws water from three sources: the Leyden Glen Reservoir, the Green River and the Mill Brook well field. In summer the town uses the Green River as it primary water source. The level in the Green River is noticeably down, which will force the DPW to start using more water from the well field.

As I look around all the towns, it seems most everyone isn’t watering their lawns. It’s a good thing people realize on their own.
