SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)- A large amount of guns were taken from a Maine man soon after leaving a movie theater after seeing “The Dark Knight Rises.” According to WCVB in Boston a state trooper stopped 49-year-old Timothy Courtois for driving at 112 mph in York on the Maine Turnpike Sunday morning. Motorists reported to police that they saw a speeding Mustang with flashers on.
When police pulled Courtois over they found four handguns, an assault rifle and multiple boxes of ammunition. Police also said they found news clippings of the mass shooting at the Colorado movie theater.
According to WCVB, police said Courtois admitted he went to the Batman movie in Saco, Saturday night with a loaded gun on him. He said that he was heading to Derry, New Hampshire to shoot a former employer.
Courtois was arrested and charged with possesion of a concealed weapon as well as speeding. He pleaded not guilty on Monday in Springvale District Court at his arraignment. Authorities said he remains at York County jail after the judge set bail at $50,000.
