East Longmeadow Police Investigating More Car Break-Ins

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) — Vandalism, busted mailboxes, and now more car breaks.

The town of East Longmeadow is getting hit once again.

About half a dozen car break-ins have happened since the weekend.

One woman even had her purse stolen from her home and car right out of the driveway.

East Longmeadow Sgt. Patrick Manley says the incidents happened either late Sunday or early Monday morning around Susan Street and Lori Lane.

Manley says a person or persons are going up to cars and homes and seeing if they are unlocked.

If they find an open door, they grab whatever they can.

Police says it’s a wake up call for people to lock up and keep their eyes open.

“If people do call in these suspicious vehicles, suspicious people late at night, the responding officers will sometimes have a chance to identify people in the neighborhood and maybe prevent some of this and make neighborhood safe for all, ” says Manley.

Police have gotten a report of a white van and are checking into that lead.

They’re also tracking the credit cards stolen from that’s woman purse.

Anyone with information is asked to call East Longmeadow Police.

Police do not believe that these break-ins are connected to the other recent vandalism in town.
