Rosie O’Donnell has postponed her wedding while her fiancée Michelle Rounds battles a rare disease.
The comedian announced the news on her blog in the form of a poem, chronicling the couple’s the journey from symptoms to diagnosis to (hopefully) recovery. “Undiagnosed — again and again. Her pain grew worse, “O’Donnell wrote. “It seemed impossible. No one knew what was wrong.”

“Life changes in an instant,” the funny lady noted in regard to Rounds’ eventual diagnosis with desmoid tumors. According to O’Donnell, the disease is “beyond rare,” with only 900 cases a year in the U.S.
