SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) – Police are asking you to be on the lookout for a very dangerous woman on the streets of Springfield. 21-year-old Cheyenne Harris is wanted on several charges including assault and battery and breaking and entering. The most recent incident happened July 29th around 8pm on Woodside Terrace.

“Cheyenne was having a feud with a 21-year-old female who lives on Woodside Terrace.” Sgt. John Delaney of Springfield Police says.

Police say Harris enlisted a group of men to accompany her that night. Going up to the victim’s 3rd story apartment door, one man disguised his voice pretending to be her boyfriend. The victim didn’t buy the impersonation and immediately dialed 9-1-1.

“While she was dialing they began kicking in the door. On the third kick the door flew wide open and Cheyenne was the first one through it.” Sgt. Delaney describes. “The victim ran into the kitchen to try and arm herself. Cheyenne came in after her with a chair and flung it at her.”

Injured, the victim was still able to escape out the back door and down the back stairs.

“When she got to the bottom of the stairs there was a man waiting for her. He was holding a bottle with intent to harm her.” Sgt. Delaney says.

The victim took refuge in a neighbor’s apartment and Harris and her posse left the scene. Police say the victim was able to positively identify her attacker as Cheyenne Harris. The police already had her mug on file because she has been arrested before.

Police also say she is a suspect in other crimes.
