More Flash Flooding Reported in Western MA

Thunderstorm activity in western Massachusetts Saturday prompted more warnings for severe weather and flash flooding.  After several inches of torrential rainfall in the northern Berkshires from more persistent storms, there were reports of several roads closed in North Adams due to flooding.  A Flash Flood Warning continues for the northern part of Berkshire County until 8:45 PM Saturday evening.

Also, two power poles and high tension lines were reportedly knocked down by storms in the Leeds section of Northampton early this evening and trees were down on a house in Cheshire in Berkshire County.

Thunderstorm activity should dissipate fast towards sundown with just a widely scattered shower possible overnight.  A few more scattered, pop-up showers or thundershowers are still possible Sunday – though coverage will be far less than Saturday with the vast majority of the day ending up dry under a mix of sun and clouds.
