Police Chase in Springfield Ends with Two Arrests

Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Two people are under arrest after a police chase in Springfield.

It happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening at the intersection of Carew Street and St. James Avenue.

Springfield police say an officer was trying to pull over a stolen car, but the driver wouldn’t stop.

The chase finally ended by the State Police barracks on Armory Street when the driver and passenger got out of the car and tried to escape on foot.

Police were able to arrest the two men.  Authorities are not releasing their names at this time.

No one was injured in the chase.

  1. They get some lawyer that contends they have rights. They lost those rights as soon as a crime was committed.
    People could have injured or killed.
    Good jib by the police.
    Springfield should be spending money for more police.
    No one will come to a casino in Springfield for fear of being robbed killed or having their car hijacked.
    Mayor Sarno forget about the casinos and get the streets cleaned up first!!!!!!!!
