Mass murderer, Anders Breivik sentenced to only 21 years

Breivik was convicted of killing 77 people, eight with a bomb and another 69 during a mass shooting at a camp of the Workers’ Youth League on the island of Utøya. Breivik was trying to stop what he called the “Islamisation” of Norway.

The maximum sentence for these crimes in Norway is 21 years but that sentence can be extended if he is deemed to be a threat to society at a later date. Breivik claims he does not recognize the court and will not appeal as this would, in his view, add legitimacy the proceedings.
