Oil Refinery Blast Kills 19 in Venezuela, Dozens Injured

Associated Press, August 25.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — A state governor in Venezuela states that the death toll from a massive explosion at the country’s largest oil refinery has risen to 19.

Falcon state Gov. Stella Lugo says the victims include a 10-year-old boy, and at least 53 people are injured after the blast at the Amuay refinery early Saturday morning.

Firefighters and National Guard troops are securing the area.
