Hurricane Isaac Set to Make Landfall

SPRINGFIELD, MASS (WGGB) – Isaac is making landfall across southeast Louisiana. As of 5 pm Isaac remains a catagory 1 hurricane  with winds now up to 80 mph. The storm is moving to the northwest now at 10 mph.

 The storm is making landfall as a category 1 hurricane. The greatest concern with Isaac will be  the storm surge between 6-12′ along with rain totals between 7-14″ with isolated spots receiving up to 20″. Hurricane Watches & Warnings remain in effect from coastal Louisinana to coastal Alabama.

Isaac will bring heavy rain into the central part of the country as well, lasting into the end of the week. Some of the rain from Isaac may head our way by the end of  Labor Day weekend. Stay tuned. Dan Brown
