Crime Files: Roberto Godinez

SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) – Springfield police are looking for a 21-year-old Indian Orchard man they say tried settling a dispute with a vicious attack on another man. Roberto Godinez’s choice of weapon: a rock. It happened at an apartment on Goodwin Street, July 15th.

“The victim was in the kitchen.” Springfield Police Sergeant John Delaney says. ” He looked up and saw Godinez tapping on the window with a rock. A big rock.”

Police say this wasn’t just an empty threat – they say Godinez went around to the back door and proceeded to kick it in. Trying to stop him, the 41-year-old victim opened it.

“What the victim was greeted with was a push and a smash to the face with the rock.” Sgt. Delaney explains.

Godinez ran from the scene while neighbors came to the victim’s aid. They called the police and gave a description of the attacker. Coincidently, police say the responding officer spotted Godinez walking on Lazon Brothers Road. Questioning him, they were able to gather enough probable cause to take him into custody. Continuing onto the scene just streets away, the victim was able to positively identify his attacker as the man officers had just picked up.

Roberto Godinez never showed up for his arraignment at court. Police say he’s still in Indian Orchard. If you recognize or have any information on him, please text an anonymous tip to C-R-I-M-E-S.

Why are these perpetrators let go. They know they won’t show up for the court date.
If the victim was related to the judge do you think they would be able to post bail. Hell no!!!
They should loose all their rights when they commit such a crime!!!!!
