Isaac Weakening but Still Dumping Heavy Rain

SPRINGFIELD, MASS (WGGB)- According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 11 am Tropical Storm Isaac continues to slowly  weaken. Top winds are down to 40 mph however Isaac continues to dump torrential rains across the Gulf Coast States.

The heaviest rain is now moving north of New Orleans. Torrential rains with thunderstorm and a few isolated tornadoes will continue to fall across northern Louisiana and Mississippi throughout the day.

The heavy rain will slowly shift into Arkansas and Missouri later today and tomorrow. Over the weekend the storm will bring heavy, but much needed rain, into The Ohio River Valley.

Some of the leftover showers from Isaac may make there way into the northeast but not until after the long holiday weekend.
