Dogs From Hurricane Isaac Up for Local Adoption

REGION (WGGB) -  Dozens of dogs were taken to safety from the path of Hurricane Isaac.

Their lives were at high risk given the area of the shelter they stayed in. Now, there’s a chance for a new life in a new area.

Twenty-eight dogs from the C Dog Run animal shelter in Florida were evacuated just before the storm. Those pets are now up for adoption at the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, Mass.

The move is one of many that’s part of a program called Dogs Across America, which rescues shelter animals in need of help.

If you want to help out or are interested in adopting one of these furry friends, call Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem a call at 978-745-9888 or visit http://www.northeastanimalshelter.org/.
