House Fire in Palmer Displaces One Family

PALMER, Mass. (WGGB) – The Pioneer Valley Red Cross confirmed they are helping a family in Palmer this morning.  An apartment unit on High Street in Palmer caught fire around 2:30 a.m.

According to police the Palmer and Three Rivers fire departments responded.  This was a four unit apartment building.  The fire started at the basement below a vacant apartment.  The family displaced lived directly above that vacant unit.

The fire was isolated to two rooms of two separate units.

As firefighters worked, High Street was shut down.  It was reopened at 5:30 a.m.

Not one was injured.  This fire is currently under investigation.
