Shooting Victim in Springfield Found at Gas Station

Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Authorities are investigating a shooting behind a gas station in Springfield.

According to Police Captain Collins a male individual was shot in the back. Officers found him at a gas station on Main and Saratoga Streets.

The call came in for shots fired around 7:40 p.m. on Oswego Street which is nearby.

The man was taken to Baystate Medical Center.

Collins says he was conscious and talking to officers when they arrived, however his condition is unknown at this time.

Police were not able to find any witnesses.

The full circumstances surrounding this incident are not immediately clear. Authorities continue to investigate.
