Wonderful Weekend Weather Helps Break Big E Attendance Records

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – The perfect fall New England weather helped break two daily attendance records over the past three days at The Big E.

Friday, 86,260 people attended the fair, breaking the attendance record for the eighth day of the fair.

Not to be outdone, another record was broken Saturday, when 164,281 fair-goers came to West Springfield.

For the three days between Friday to Sunday, 375,910 people came out to The Big E, about 140,000 more than last weekend – the opening weekend of the fair.

So far, over the first ten days of this year’s fair, over 850,000 people have attended New England’s largest fair, with seven days left before the fair closes on Sunday, September 30.

If you are heading to the fair, be sure to stop by the ABC40 booth, located at Gate 5 near Flag Plaza. We will have giveaways, enter for chances to win prizes, and watch as we broadcast the news LIVE weekday afternoons.
