Foliage Report

Springfield, Mass (WGGB) We’re starting to see some splashes of color across western Mass. Slowly but surely things are starting to look like fall. We still have a way to go here in the Pioneer Valley but parts of New England are already seeing peak conditions.

The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont from St. Johnsburry to the Canadian border are seeing peak colors as we head into the last weekend of September. Northern New Hampshire from Mt. Washington to points north along with northern Maine are seeing peak colors as well.

You don’t have to drive all the way to northern New England to see some color. Areas further south are not peaking, just yet but there is some moderate color from central Vermont through central New Hampshire and into interior southern Maine.

The Berkshires will likely peak the weekend of October 13th/14th with The Pioneer Valley peaking the weekend of October 20th/21st.  Mother Natures specticle of colors will shift to the Cape & Islands by Halloween. The colors seem to be on schedule and reports are that the show, this year, is impressive.

If you have any pictures of the fall colors and want to share them email me, Dan Brown at dbrown@wggb.com

Enjoy the fall season!
