WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) — A Southwest Airlines flight from Tampa, Fla., made and emergency landing at its destination, Bradley International Airport, after apparently striking a bird or birds on its final approach.

Airport spokesman John Wallace says Flight 2102 was about 25 miles south of the airport Wednesday when the crew declared an emergency after hearing a loud bang outside the aircraft.

He says emergency crews were called to the runway and watched as the plane made a normal landing, on time, at about 2:10 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Wallace said the plane taxied to the gate under its own power and an initial inspection of the plane revealed the bird strike.
