Taylor Swift Settles In To Franklin County

Taylor Swift- It’s a name that gets hearts racing and little girls screaming around the world. You may think that this larger-than-life celebrity spends all of her time in Hollywood or Nashville. Not so, she’s actually been spending some time in Franklin County.

She’s giving local folks a small taste of Hollywood. Swift casually walked into Adam’s Donuts while visiting the area last month.

“So I just leaned over and said ‘hi Taylor.’ She goes ‘Ohh, hi!” Susan Rogowski said.

“I’m actually a big fan of hers,” Sarah Cook said. “Ive been to a couple concerts, so for me I was like ahhh, it was cool!”

So cool that Rogowski wanted to treasure the moment for as long as she could go without washing her hands.

“I had pads of paper sitting here and I didnt even think to ask to sign an autograph on there,” she said. “I just said can you sign my hand. I gave her a marker and she signed the ‘Taylor Swift’ with a heart and the number 13 which was kinda cool.”

So what’s bringing T-Swift to town? Her alleged lover, 18 year old Connor Kennedy. He’s a junior at nearby Deerfield Academy. The two were also spotted here at the Lady Killigrew Cafe in Greenfield. Jason Tuthill cooked their meals.

“The two of them got a warm brown rice salad and a curry chicken sandwich and then came back for a bagel with cream cheese,” Tuthill said. “(There’s) a lot of buzz. Lot of people have been calling about it. Showing up, ordering same food, stuff like that.”

Outside of an autographed hand or autographed donut receipt, evidence of the Taylor Swift spottings are sparse. Most people say didn’t want to bother her, in hopes they’ll see her again.

“She said it was kinda cool because everybody with it being a small town was treating her really really well,” Rogowski said.

“We just hope that she comes back,” Cook said.

Deerfield Academy says they welcome Taylor Swift to campus just like every other friend or family member of their students. While she’s been a gracious guest, however, she doesn’t stay on campus when she visits.
