WOBURN, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to killing four family members at their home north of Boston two years ago.
Thomas Mortimer IV pleaded guilty to first-degree murder Wednesday in Woburn Superior Court He faces life in prison without parole for the deaths of his mother-in-law, wife, and two young children in June 2010.
The victims’ bodies were found at their Winchester home when Mortimer’s sister-in-law went to the home after her repeated telephone calls to her mother and sister weren’t answered.
Prosecutors said the slayings followed marital problems between Mortimer and his wife, Laura Stone Mortimer. The others killed were Ellen Stone, and the two Mortimer children, 2-year-old Charlotte and 4-year-old Thomas Mortimer V.
