BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is calling Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown “a Bay State birther” for running television ads focusing on Democratic rival Elizabeth Warren’s claims of Native American heritage.
Patrick made the comment during an interview on WCVB-TV.
Asked whether the ads are good political strategy, Patrick, a Democrat, said he hoped not, adding “Sen. Brown has turned into a Bay State birther.”
The ads suggest Warren used the claims to get hired as a Harvard Law School professor, something she’s denied.
A Brown spokesman said Warren could end the issue by releasing more documents.
Patrick’s comment refers to so-called “birthers” who maintain President Barack Obama was born in Kenya despite the fact that Hawaii officials have repeatedly verified Obama’s citizenship.
Warren has said she was told growing up her mother had Native American heritage.
WGGB…if you spent 2 minutes fact checking the “birthers” you would find that Kenya and the HUGE investigation by the Cold Case Posse both think Obama was born in Kenya…cute title though “birthers”…very professional!

Alex, many have said the same about the Hawaii birth certificate…but feel free to believe what you like…but when you see a media outlet calling people names like “birther” and “tea bagger” you should ask why. PS…His Hawaiin b/c listed his dad’s race as “African-American”…did they use that term in 1961 (3 years before the civil rights movement) to describe people of color? Think about it…
And…if you don’t think Deval is capable of excusing dishonesty please refer to his comments about Ms. Warren’s indian heritage…which has been proven to be false. Deval says “we’re not gonna talk about that”…think he would say the same if Scot Brown was caught spreading a lie? Think about it…
