Springfield Museums Culture and Cocktails Series, New Season Underway

Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Wednesday night the Springfield Museums began its third season of culture and cocktails events with an Oktoberfest.

The Lyman and Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History was filled with snacks from the Student Prince, live music by The Kings and a homebrew competition that the public was asked to judge.

Guests got to check out the museum and a number of local small breweries offered beer tastings.

Event organizers says it’s beneficial for the museum but also helps out the breweries.

Manager of Museum Eduction, Larissa Murray told us, “We do have a few smaller local breweries and because it’s such a large and vast crowd here, they can really network with people.”

Culture and Cocktails events are held on the 1st Thursday of each month.

In November they will hold “On The Town”, a night of martinis and jazz at the Smith Art Museum.

Admission is $10 for non-members.
