SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)– The Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society held its monthly low cost vaccination and microchip clinic today.
These clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of every month up until the end of the year.
The clinics help low income community members protect their dogs and cats by offering rabies, parvo (dogs only), and distemper prevention vaccinations, and affordable microchipping.
Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats are required by law in Massachusetts. This clinic offers a one year rabies vaccination, certificate and tag. Caretakers with a previous rabies certificate are asked to bring it to the clinic.
These clinics will be offered on a first come, first served basis and proof of financial assistance is required at the time of the visit.
Vaccinations are $5 each and microchips are $15. Individuals may elect one or all services. There is also a $5 examination fee for each animal at the time of visit.
