Springfield Man Barricades Woman Inside Room, Lights Fire, Then Jumps Out of a Window

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) –Police responded to a call for a domestic violence dispute just after 8 A.M. this morning at 140 White Street in Springfield.
According to the Executive Aide to Springfield’s Fire Commissioner, Dennis Leger, a man barricaded himself in a second floor bedroom with another female inside. He then lit a pile of clothing that was on the floor in the middle of the room on fire, before jumping out of the window.
Other women who were in the apartment were able to call for help. Firefighters were able to remove the couch from in front of the bedroom door and extinguish the fire.
The man fled the scene.
The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad are investigating.
Just another day of creative domestic abuse.
Hope he is caught, and the judge keeps him in jail, otherwise there might be more of the same with someone getting seriously hurt!!!!

Wtf!!! Always something crazy happening in Springfield. Hope the suspect is caught and imprisoned, instead of the usual slap on the wrist.

*this is a poorly written article- within the second paragraph it talks about “another woman” BUT no women was previously mentioned..then he ignites a pile of clothes in the middle of the floor but police are able to take a couch out/ **I think we can all agree this is a cowardly and disgusting crime that was committed
