SANTA ANA, Calif. (CNN) — A 425-pound man is suspected of trying to kidnap a boy on his way to soccer practice in Santa Ana, California.

The boy was walking with his cousin Thursday when the suspect, Victor Espinoza, lured the boy close and grabbed him.

The 10-year-old boy broke free and ran to tell his coach, who confronted and then tackled Espinoza as he tried to flee.

The suspect got away, but was soon captured nearby.

Espinoza has been charged with false imprisonment and child annoyance.
