Car Crashes into Tractor Trailer on Berkshire Avenue

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A crash involving a car and tractor trailer is causing some traffic problems.
The accident occurred around noon at the intersection of Berkshire Avenue and Cottage Street in Springfield.
The impact of the crash caused one of the gas tanks on the tractor trailer to rupture, leaking its fuel on the roadway.
Fire crews are working to clean-up the spill.
Traffic is being rerouted while the fuel and cars are cleaned up.
That intersection is horrible, especially with the bridge construction on Roosevelt. Maybe they’ll reconsider a traffic light?
